CNN —The Oscar-winning team behind the nearly $6 billion blockbuster “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies is reuniting to produce two new films. The first of the new projects from Sir Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens is tentatively titled “Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” Warner Bros. Walsh and Boyens have been tapped to write the screenplay, along with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou. Warner Bros. is owned by CNN’s parent company. Jackson made history with “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, becoming the first person to direct three major feature films simultaneously.

Gittins surrounded the fireplace in this room with a large minotaur head, above which he painted portraits of Greek philosophers. Together they established the Wirral Arts and Culture Community Land Trust (WACCLT), which launched a crowdfunding campaign through the website Ron’s Place, applied for listed status and eventually bought the building last year. Now, the property has been granted “Grade II” listing by Britain’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport on the advice of national heritage body Historic England. Ron’s Place is the first example of Outsider Art to be given protected status in England, according to Historic England. There is little to hint at what lies behind the front door of this red-brick house in Birkenhead, England.

Foxtons CEO Guy Gittins told Reuters that there is an extreme imbalance between supply and demand in the rental market, driving up prices. The number of lettings applicants registering with the company has surged 172% currently compared to pre-pandemic 2019. Foxtons said it expects the wider home sales market to remain challenging as high mortgage costs and tight credit conditions make home purchases less affordable. The company posted a 10% jump in half-year adjusted operating profit at 6.8 million pounds ($8.8 million), mainly on strength of its prime lettings business. The group's revenue from continuing operations grew 9% to about 71 million pounds, while revenue from the lettings division jumped 26%.

Ron Gittins meticulously decorated his rented apartment from 1986 till his death in 2019. Friends feared the art-filled apartment would be lost after it was put up for auction. The apartment's former resident was artist Ron Gittins, who died in 2019. After his death, friends and family came together to pay Gittins' rent and try to preserve his art-filled home. Nothing is yet known about the individual who made the donation or why they decided to make it.
